In 1886 the operation was expanded to become the Kawasaki Dockyard and then, ten years later on, Kawasaki started expanding into other modes ofconstruction and transportation. Apart from building ships, Kawasaki build helicopters, bridges, trains, robots and aircraft, they even built the massive boring machine that was used for the Channel Tunnel. This was indeed a 'heavy' image.
